Why work with me?
Choosing someone to support your mental health is a big decision, so why would you choose me?
I've been there. I've struggled with mental health issues in the past. I've been agoraphobic, depressed, anxious, and I suffered from debilitating panic attacks.
My own experience led me to search search for answers. I found those answers through EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and talking therapy.
After my journey, I became passionate about learning skills to enable me to support others through their own healing journeys.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and member of the BACP, with over 11 years’ experience of one-to-one and group client work.
Making the decision to seek support can be a difficult one for many people. With me, you will experience a warm, safe, non-judgemental space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings around what is happening for you.
You truly are an individual and one-of-a-kind, and my approach upholds this. I work as an integrative counsellor, believing that there is no single approach that can treat each and every client in all situations. This enables me to utilise a combined approach in my work, bringing together the very best elements from different approaches, offering the best support for each individual client.
I truly believe that every client is their own expert. Over the past 11 years, I have worked with hundreds of people and have found this to be true for each one of them.
If appropriate, and you would like to, we can introduce a technique called EFT or ‘tapping’. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is a very powerful, yet gentle, modality for dealing with many issues. EFT has been proven in clinical trials to be effective for:
- traumatic memories
- weight loss
- chronic pain
- and lots more
It is also an amazingly useful tool to help with issues such as procrastination and limiting beliefs. EFT is easy to learn and has no negative side effects.
I have been a certified and accredited member of EFT International for over 11 years and I am qualified to their Advanced Practitioner level. EFT is also something you can use, between sessions, to support and empower yourself.
The most important part of counselling is the relationship between the client and counsellor. With this in mind, I offer a 15 minute discovery call. This allows time for you to ask me anything, and decide whether you feel I am the right person for you to work with. There is no obligation to work with me after this, and no pressure to commit to a set number of sessions. This is your journey.
